Inner Wheel Club of South
Calcutta, bonded by 'Friendship and Service' is a member club of
District 329 of Association of Inner Wheel Clubs in India. It is
affiliated to the International Inner Wheel, the second largest
women's organisation in the world.
Registration
The Club is registered under
West Bengal Societies Registration Act 1961 (S/1L 33551 of
2005-2006) and exempted u/s 80G(5)(vi) of the I.T. Act 1961 vide M.
No. DIT(E)/8E/13/08-09/5229-31 dated 22.07.2011 (w.e.f. 1.04.2011).
Our Members
Our members come from diverse
backgrounds and occupations and are skilled in various activities.
Age is certainly no bar. What then brings such a motley crew
together – unbridled passion for voluntary social service.
Meetings
Members meet on 1st & 3rd
Mondays at Sarat Samity, 24 Aswini Dutta Road, Kolkata 700029 from
4.30 pm.
Club Activities
Issues of Education, Health and
Livelihood are the area of concern for which all our members work
sincerely.
We carry out Awareness
programmes and projects on :-
Personal Hygiene
Polio
Thalassaemia
AIDS
Cancer
Malaria Eradication
On a regular basis we conduct
Blood Donation Camp, Eye Camp along with IOL Operation.
The Club has a Vocational
Training Centre at Deara under Sonarpur P.S where the women-folk of
the village are trained in tailoring and embroidery to help them
progress towards economic independence.
We undertake projects for the
special needs children, the aged, visually impaired and destitute.
